Department of Environment & ConservationDEC is a State Government agency that aims to conserve Western Australia 's rich diversity of native plants, animals and natural ecosystems, and many of its unique landscapes. DEC manage more than 24 million hectares, including more than nine per cent of WA's land area: its national parks, marine parks, conservation parks, regional parks, State forests and timber reserves, nature reserves, and marine nature reserves. As such DEC have a large role in the management of Phytophthora dieback within the south-west of Western Australia . DEC provides broad conservation and land management services to the WA community.
